Rocky tree little refugee of the forest

(A fairytale in pictures)

One of our initial aims was our students to realise the concepts of «refugeeism» and «refugee» through the fairytale «Rombolo, a refugee of the forest».

Summary

Long time ago, there was a tree full of life and all green. It was a rocky tree. People, because of their needs, cut it down. And then, this poor tree rootless and without any leaves was found in a foreign place.

This rocky tree was tortured by the pain of up-rooting and nostalgia and it had the need of communicating with someone. Where could it settle down?

All alone it seeked for some comfort. Until one day, a beautiful almond tree that bloomed in a nearby garden, lost its heart.

Μία από τις πρώτες δράσεις μας ήταν να αντιληφθούν οι μαθητές μας την έννοια της προσφυγιάς και του πρόσφυγα μέσα από το παραμύθι  «Ρόμπολο, το προσφυγάκι του δάσους».

Περίληψη

Κάποτε ήταν δέντρο ζωντανό και καταπράσινο, ρόμπολο καμαρωτό! Για τις ανάγκες τους οι άνθρωποι μια μέρα το έκοψαν. Δίχως  ρίζες, φύλλα και κλαδιά, βρέθηκε στύλος να φωτά σε ξένο τόπο.

Το βασανίζει ο πόνος του ξεριζωμού, η νοσταλγία και η ανάγκη για επικοινωνία. Πού και πώς να στεριώσει; Μόνο κι έρημο ζητάει παρηγοριά.

Ώσπου μια μυγδαλιά, που ανθεί στο διπλανό περιβόλι, του κλέβει την καρδιά.

Μια τρυφερή ιστορία αγάπης, αλληγορική, γεμάτη καημό και προσμονή.

An article about the LTT in a Latvian newspaper

An article in a local Latvian newspaper about the LTT in Greece. In the article, our students Monta, Elīza and Rota are talking about the meeting, what they liked the best, what have they learned and what value these meetings bring for the students. Girls are happy they had an opportunity to meet new friends and were able to communicate very well with them.

2nd transnational meeting

We are happy to be back in Escola Sant Domenec, Spain for the second transnational meeting.

Our program's song/ ΤΟ ΤΡΑΓΟΥΔΙ ΤΟΥ ΠΡΟΓΡΑΜΜΑΤΟΣ

Οι μαθητές των Δ΄, Ε΄, ΣΤ΄τάξεων χωρίστηκαν σε ομάδες. Η κάθε ομάδα έγραψε τους στίχους ενός τραγουδιού στα ελληνικά που αναφερόταν στο θέμα του προγράμματος. Στη συνέχεια οι ομάδες παρουσίασαν το τραγούδι τους στις άλλες ομάδες. Όλες μαζί δημιούργησαν ένα κοινό τραγούδι που το μετάφρασαν στα αγγλικά με τη βοήθεια της δασκάλας αγγλικών κ. Τσιμπώνη Ελένης. Η μουσικός μας κ. Βίβιαν Γώγου το μελοποίησε. Όλοι μαζί το τραγουδήσαμε.

Students from 4th, 5th, 6th grade were divided into groups. Each group wrote the song's verses in Greek. This song refered in our program's theme. Each group presented their song to the other teams. They all created a common song that was translated in English with the help of the English teacher mrs Tsimponi Eleni. Our music teacher mrs Gogou Vivian composed the song. We sang it all together.

Carly: A refugee's story / Ειρήνη: Η ιστορία ενός παιδιού πρόσφυγα

Η Ειρήνη αναγκάζεται να αφήσει το σπίτι της και τα πάντα πίσω της. Μόνη, ξεκινά να βρει βοήθεια σε άλλους τόπους. Μπαίνει στη χώρα των Πετροφάγων, των Μουτζουρωμένων κορακιών και των Μεταξωτών ουρών. Αλλά κανείς τους δε θα τη βοηθήσει, γιατί είναι ‘’παράξενη’’ και διαφορετική από αυτούς. Πού θα βρει η Ειρήνη την ασφάλειαAκαι τη ζεστασιά μιας νέας οικογένειας ;


 Carly is forced to flee her home and leave everything behind. All alone, she sets out to find help in other lands. She encounters the Stone-eaters, Smoky-Crows and Silky-tails. Βut none of them will help her because she is ‘’strange’’ and different from them. Where will Carly find the safety and warmth of a new family?

Greek students visit art studio

Οι μαθητές από την Ελλάδα επισκέφτηκαν το καλλιτεχνικό εργαστήρι «Δημιουργική Πόρτα» στη Λάρισα και παρακολούθησαν το εκπαιδευτικό πρόγραμμα «Ο Απόλλωνας και η Δάφνη». Πρώτα βυθιστήκανε στη χώρα του παραμυθιού και στη συνέχεια το κάθε παιδί κατασκεύασε τη δική του μακέτα.

The students from Greece visited the art studio «Creativity Door» in Larisa and watched the educational programme «Apollo and Daphne». First, they «dived» into the fairytale land and then every student make his/her own model. You can see the activity here.
