'Europe day' contest in Tirza primary school

On Thursday, May 9th, pupils from grade 4 to grade 9  were able to test their knowledge of the European Union countries in a competition. The tasks  were quite diverse. Pupils had ro recognize capitals of the countries, created an interactive European political map, and competed against each other in a kahoot.it test.
The contest took place within the framework of the Erasmus + program project 'Don't forget what really matters!'

Christmas decorations

Students of Tirza primary school are working hard and have made beautiful decorations out of used materials.

Our students tried to understand the importance of recycling and sorting, and researched garbage sorting possibilities at their school.

Latvian students make 'sensory wall'

Students of Tirza primary school are taking on a great task - making a sensory wall out of used materials, giving them second, very important life.

The wall is very useful for the preschool kids, as it helps them develop fine motor skill, but, of course, will be used by students of all ages.

LTT in Latvia: day 5

Good-bye, Tirza! It was so great for all of us to be together! On Friday, the students participated in such activities as a workshop “The second life of everyday things” and contest “Our beautiful planet”. The day brought a lot of positive emotions - the games together with Tirza primary school's volunteer Nuno very so much fun, as was the good-bye party at our student Monta's house. We want to see you all soon again!

LTT in Latvia: day 4

Our plan for this day: to get to learn about “Using IT in traditional farming” at the farm “Lācīši”, Visiting a youth centre "Pulss" and participate in interactive games about nature, the nature labyrinth in Alūksne town.

We started off the day with a very creative task - making the project song. Dorota - music teacher from Poland had made the instrumental, and students worked together to write lyrics. This is what we came up with:

Our second important task was to plant some bushes in the school yard. Spanish students had sent us some tips and information about the bushes we were about to plant.
