Looking back

As the end of the school year is approaching we are looking back at the work we have done
during the project. We, Tirza primary school students, prepared a short video sharing our work and views. The video is only
a tip of the iceberg. The hard work and preparation behind it hasn’t been included. Right
now we continue to research our ancestors and where we come from.

Latvian students get to know Greece

Kalimera!

With such a greeting, teacher Ligita began the presentation on the morning of March 28th.

Tirza Primary School students Rota, Elīza and Monta together with teachers Ligita and Līna are eagerly preparing for a study visit to Greece in mid-May. We got acquainted with a small part of the Greek culture. The 7th grade student Monta writes: "I really enjoyed listening to the presentation about Greece. I learned a lot and these things were all new to me, for example, i learnt what exactly is siesta. I can not wait for the trip to see, feel and graze everything that was mentioned in the presentation."

STORYTELLING AT SANT DOMÈNEC SCHOOL

Last April the 9th, Marta Fos, a teacher who works in a village close to our school, came to tell the  children of P-5 and 1st grade a beautiful story about saharian refugees.

She wrote two “solidary books” a long time ago when she first  visited diferent camps in Africa. 

Marta has been doing a great task in order to help  people who suffer the experience of being a refugee . Her life  experience  allows her to transmit a special way to see the situation.  

Polish students learn about Ukraine

Our Polish teachers team took part of international Euneos course in Madeira Interactive Technology Institute in March. The course was a part of Erasmus+KA1. Because the training concerned the use of modern technologies in the daily practice of teachers, our teachers had the opportunity not only to present solutions developed in SP42 in the field of modern technologies, but also to promote the results of all international Erasmus + projects, which they are part of , also Don't forget what really matters- starting with preparation to projects, working with application form (ideas of Spain coordinator were promoted), activities and results publishing, ways of comunication and colaboration.

Our school handball players, inspired by an educational spot with the participation of one of
the best Polish handball players, multiple Polish representative and captain
the national team Marcin Lijewski, decided to explore the topic of selective waste collection.
They organized an action promoting the reduction of the amount of waste produced every day and their proper sorting.
The school created so-called Eco-zones in which containers for selective storage are located

As part of the SUPER SORTER and Erasmus + project, the students decided to
delve into the subject of upcycling and use daily waste in a creative way.
They created the EcoDesign project - they were designed and made teenager room of real size from collected bottles, recycled paper and caps.
The work of young designers could be seen during the school exposition.
Designers were proud and committed to answering numerous visitors' questions
exhibition of children and adults.
It was also a great joy to test furniture, room equipment and furniture together
a show of the latest eco-clothing queue :)

Project environmental issues-The world water day

Because the clean environment is important for all people in the whole world and Europe, and water is important part of it, we celebrate the World Water Day every year, March 22th, 
"Moda na wodę "-under this slogan after-school corner teachers of our school run The World Water Day.

Children, through games, broadened their knowledge about water and realized how important it is in human life, not only locally, but also globally 

The main attractions of the day were: water tasting, face painting, attaching one's drop of water and taking a selfie in a drop of water. There was also a demonstration of experiences related to the topic. The school community and a group of children from Kindergarten No. 73 took part in competitions: "Break a drop of water", "Fishing", "Ship", "Drinking water on time", "Bowling", "Elephant trumpet" , "Puzzle - Droplet", which made a lot of joy and smile on the faces of children.

In March,students of our school together with their  history teacher participated in the School European Club and the Oxford Debate Club took part in the debate on the subject of "The crisis of European security". The participants of the debate were Rafał Ożarowski - a political scientist from the College of Business and Administration in Gdynia, Rafał Kostrzyński - a representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and Tomasz Nowicki - an employee of the Immigrant and Immigrant Support Center in Gdańsk. Experts and students debated about situations of immigrant and refugees in Europe

On this special day we were visited by a special guest - Mr. Łew Zacharczyszyn, consul of Ukraine in Gdańsk with his family.
We wanted to get to know better interesting culture, traditions, history of our school colleagues' country. You can see Ukrainian singers during school concert and sports .
