Carly: A refugee's story / Ειρήνη: Η ιστορία ενός παιδιού πρόσφυγα
Η Ειρήνη αναγκάζεται να αφήσει το σπίτι της και τα πάντα πίσω της. Μόνη, ξεκινά να βρει βοήθεια σε άλλους τόπους. Μπαίνει στη χώρα των Πετροφάγων, των Μουτζουρωμένων κορακιών και των Μεταξωτών ουρών. Αλλά κανείς τους δε θα τη βοηθήσει, γιατί είναι ‘’παράξενη’’ και διαφορετική από αυτούς. Πού θα βρει η Ειρήνη την ασφάλειαAκαι τη ζεστασιά μιας νέας οικογένειας ;
Carly is forced to flee her home and leave everything behind. All alone, she sets out to find help in other lands. She encounters the Stone-eaters, Smoky-Crows and Silky-tails. Βut none of them will help her because she is ‘’strange’’ and different from them. Where will Carly find the safety and warmth of a new family?

The students from Greece visited the art studio «Creativity Door» in Larisa and watched the educational programme «Apollo and Daphne». First, they «dived» into the fairytale land and then every student make his/her own model. You can see the activity here.

Our origins- then and now
During our journey through the origins of our students’ families we learned many interesting
things about ourselves.
It turned out that the ancestors of many of us had to move to Poland
for many reasons - economic, political, wars, and there were also those who just fell in love:)
The most numerous group in our school has Polish of forefathers, but there are also people
of Ukrainian, Russian or French nationality. Immigration is a difficult experience - a new place,
a new culture, new people. However, because of the fact that they are with us, we could learn
a lot about different culture-even simple things like cuisine, songs, dances and more.
The Ukrainian minority introduced us into their culture, traditions and customs on March.
We could watch traditional clothes, listen to Ukrainian Music,
be part of interactive lesson of geography and history.
The Ukrainian consul in Poland Mr. Łew Zacharczyszyn and his family also visited the school
on that day.
It was great journey:) We could get to know each other better.

Latvia - making our family trees
Latvian students have made their family trees and learnt a lot about their parents and grandparents. To no surprise, most of our ancestors come from different Latvian cities, but some of the parents, siblings and grandparents were born in Russia, Ukraine, United Kingdom and Ireland. It was so much fun to learn a little bit more about ourselves!

Observing our past...
Children of ESCOLA SANT DOMÈNEC in Spain have drawn their family trees with the flags of the countries where their ancestors were born. We have observed that most of them also moved at some point because they needed to find a job, a better life or new opportunities.
We have concluded that all of us can be refugees or immigrants at some point of our lives, so we have to take care of people and put ourselves in their shoes to understand them better.
